Cox offers custom system design and integration services to aircraft manufacturers and operators in response to unique or technically demanding problems. Here are the three (3) examples of Cox's Solutions to customer reported problems:

Boeing 767 Aircraft 500 Watt Heating System

Problem #1:
Service crews on Boeing 767 Aircraft reported cold temperatures in rear seating row crew rest area next to the exit door, which is closed off by a wrap-around privacy curtain from the cabin's ECS system.

Cox's Solution:
We designed and qualified (via an STC) a 500 watt heating system with an integrated fan to provide variable power outputs for service crew comfort. (click to enlarge)

Jet Windshield Water Disbursement System

Problem #2:
Windshield wipers used during taxiing in heavy rain conditions on the Gulfstream V exhibited high failure rates and loud cockpit noise as well as numerous operator complaints. Gulfstream Engineering required smooth aircraft lines associated with any alternate product design, which would be flush mounted with the existing aircraft fuselage when stored in flight for reduced aircraft drag.

Cox's Solution:
Custom designed a qualified Windshield Water Disbursement System (WWDS), including high velocity fan, aircraft ducting and retractable nozzles meeting Gulfstream design specifications for performance and installation into the existing aircraft structure. Today the Cox WWDS is standard equipment on the Gulfstream G350/G450/G500/G550 aircraft families. (click to enlarge)

Boeing 777 Tail Strike Assembly

Problem #3:
The new Boeing 777 Aircraft required a Tail Strike Indicator for pilot annunciation of tail strikes during take-off. This new, all composite product was required to detect force pressures of between 600 to 800 pounds while withstanding a side abuse impact of 150 pounds.

Cox's Solution:
Custom designed and qualified three (3) versions of the Tail Strike Assembly (TSA) for the Boeing 777-200, 777-300 and stretched 757-300 aircraft types. (click to enlarge)
